Sunshine over Lubeck

A nice leisurely start to the day with a stroll to a bakery for an alfresco breakfast.

We joined a guided town tour with Jan who was an entertaining raconteur who took us inside several buildings we might not otherwise have seen.  Lubeck is a beautiful city with a lovely mix of architecture (the appalling shopping centre in the middle excepted) with mostly cobbled streets.  The locals hang their washing out in the park and streets are closed for play.  "spielstrasse"

After several kilometres of free foot massages on the cobbles we descended to the waterfront for ice cream before boarding a boat for an hour's circumnavigation of the island.  En route time for our second mini Scandi-drama as cries went up from the front "Is there a doctor on the boat?". A Dutch lady had fainted but recovered after some ministrations.

Now having a relaxing sit back at the hotel and planning our evening out.
